Two men were wounded, one of them critically, in shootings Wednesday evening on the West and Far South sides, police said.

In the most recent shooting, a 20-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting about 8:25 p.m. in the 440 block of West Altgeld Street in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood on the Northwest Side, said Chicago police spokesman Officer Thomas Sweeney.
The man was on the street when at least one attacker got out of a black SUV and started firing, hitting him in the back and leg, Sweeney said. The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Wednesday evening’s shooting is the fourth in the Grand Central police district in as many days. The three earlier shootings left three dead, including 13-year-old Anthony Diaz and a 16-year-old boy who has not been formally identified.
Earlier, in the West Pullman neighborhood, a 47-year-old man was wounded in the leg about 7:15 p.m. The man was taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition following the attack in the 400 block of West 116th Street, Sweeney said.
