Three men were wounded in shootings on Chicago’s West and South sides Saturday afternoon, police said.
In the most recent attack, a 19-year-old man was shot in the wrist about 4:30 p.m. near 84th Street and Saginaw Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side, said Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Thomas Sweeney. The man told police he was walking in the area when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, hitting him.
The man went to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was in good condition.
In the Austin neighborhood about 4:05 p.m., a 39-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the hand in the 5500 block of West Huron Street on the West Side, Sweeney said. The man was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park in good condition.
The man may have been injured in a robbery attempt, police said.
Earlier, in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side, another 39-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in at attack about 2:10 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Champlain Avenue, Sweeney said.
The man was in a vehicle when someone came up to him on foot and fired shots in the vehicle, hitting the man. The victim went to the University of Chicago Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds but was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in serious condition.
No one was in custody in the shootings.
