Quincy Amarikwa scored a first-half goal and goalkeeper Sean Johnson played both halves as the Chicago Fire beat the Queens Park Rangers Under-21 team 1-0 in London on Thursday.
The game wrapped up a nearly two-week Fire training tour to the United Kingdom.

Amarikwa scored in the 15th minute on a feed from midfielder Harry Shipp. Johnson, meanwhile, played all 90 minutes against Queens Park.
“He’s only played 45 minutes since last season, that was 45 minutes (last Sunday) with the national team,” Fire coach Frank Yallop said. “For him to come in and be sharp and play like he did, I thought it was great.”
Johnson joined the team this week for the first time in the preseason after participating in U.S. Soccer’s lengthy January camp. He played the second half of Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Panama in Los Angeles.
The Fire and Norwich City played to a scoreless tie in last Thursday’s preseason opener.
The Fire were scheduled to return to Chicago on Friday, have the weekend off and resume training on Monday at home.
They will travel next to Portland for a four-team tournament that opens Feb. 22.
The Fire open the Major League Soccer regular season March 6 at Los Angeles.
