Alfred Stanley, 20, is charged with carrying a loaded handgun – which was previously reported stolen – into the school on Jan. 30, one day after he and his brother, 18-year-old Jacquon Stanley, were kicked out of the school.
Alfred Stanley, who faces multiple charges, including armed violence, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm in a school and resisting a police officer, is being held in Kane County Jail on $300,000 bail.
The brothers each attended brief hearings on Wednesday during which Kane County Judge Susan Clancy Boles appointed public defenders to represent them.
Jacquon Stanley, in jail on $75,000 bail, is charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing and other counts tied to him running from police and giving a fake name to officers, court records show.
Authorities said the Stanley brothers were spotted inside East High by administrators on Jan. 29. The pair was told to leave by the school’s resource officer. They returned on Jan. 30 only to flee when confronted by school officials. Both were caught after a foot chase with Aurora police officers.
In each instance, the two men entered through a rear entrance near the school’s fieldhouse after school hours, officials previously said. The men are expected to return to court next month.
