Kane County deputies said an Aurora Township man was drunk early Wednesday morning when he crashed his car into the garage of a home a block from his own residence.
Todd Bishop, 50, 2000 block of Radcliffe Drive, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. after his car was found smashed into the garage of a home in the 1100 block of Lindenwood Avenue, Lt. Patrick Gengler said.
Alcohol was found inside the vehicle. Bishop has been charged with drunken driving.
A car inside the home’s garage was ruined, and the structure also suffered extensive damage, Gengler said.
Bishop lives within a block of where the crash occurred. Gengler said he believes Bishop failed to stop at the T intersection of Lindenwood Avenue and Radcliffe Drive, and drove forward into the garage.

He was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, and illegal transportation of alcohol.
It was the second time this week that a car crashed into a home in Kane County, Gengler said.
Two people were injured Monday after the car they were riding in struck a patch of ice and slammed into a home near Hampshire around 11:20 a.m.
The home sustained extensive damage, Gengler said. One person was inside the home at the time of the crash, but was not injured.
That driver was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
