Chevy showed off its refreshed 2016 Equinox compact crossover at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The compact SUV segment was the largest in the U.S. last year and Chevy is the best-selling brand in Chicago, so the pairing fits.
The midcycle refresh may forecast a full redesign, since the second generation Equinox was launched in 2010. “Chevy Equinox is a pillar of the compact SUV segment, thanks to a value rooted in great style, efficiency, safety and connectivity,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America.

The refresh includes a more aggressive grille, headlamps, taillamps, fog lamps, daytime running lights and wheels, plus new safety features such as rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot alert, and upgraded seating fabrics.
There are also new tablet holders mounted on the back of front-seat headrests, available after market at dealers. New L, LS, LT and LTZ trim levels replace LT1 and LT2, and an available 7-inch touch-screen control to replace the 4.2-inch screen. And thanks to advanced connected vehicle technology using 4G LTE, the Equinox will now be able to give drivers warning of potential battery, starter motor or fuel pump trouble.
