The big snowstorm happened more than a week ago, but it is still on the minds of Montgomery officials.
“Accidents were up some 400 percent and we had 43 motorist to assist,” said Montgomery Police Chief Dan Myers about the blizzard.
He said residents need to heed warnings that come out about bad weather.
“When the county and state come out and say if you don’t have to leave your homes then don’t, it means stay home,” he said.
Myers said part of the problem came from people determined to go to Super Bowl parties, and then parking on the street, which should not be done during a snowstorm..

Meyers said officers wrote some 113 snow parking tickets during the storm.
“The board dictates policy and I would like to see the board make it a policy if you are parked on a marked street in over two inches of snow you do get a ticket, and if you do it again you get a notice to appear,” said Trustee Steve Jungermann.
Concerns have also been raised during the past week about the effectiveness of snow plowing during the storm.
“We are doing a comprehensive review of the event, what happened, what was done right and what to do in the future,” said Mike Pubentz, public safety director regarding snow plowing during the record snowfall.
“We have started to review the storm and how we responded, primarily with plowing. We are really focusing on looking at all aspects, the equipment, drivers’ schedules,” Pubentz said.
