The Illinois Restaurant Association has named Patrick Donelly as chairman of the board. Donelly, who was formerly first vice chairman, replaces Ken Raskin of Manny’s Cafeteria and Delicatessen.
Serving as general manager of Hyatt Regency in Chicago since 2007, Donelly first joined Hyatt in 1986. He was Hyatt Regency Chicago’s Regional Food and Beverage Director from 1991 through 1995 and held a number of positions at Hyatt properties nationwide. He previously served as the general manager of Hyatt Regency Knoxville, Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and Hyatt Regency O’Hare.
“I look forward to serving the Illinois Restaurant Association in this new role,” Donelly said in a statement. “I believe that the goals of the Illinois Restaurant Association are vital for our industry and it is an honor to be appointed to this position.”
Donelly is also a part of the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association board of directors, where he served as chairman in 2014; Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce board of directors; The Magnificent Mile Association; and has sat on the executive board for Choose Chicago.
