“The Late Late Show” fill-in host Adam Pally and sidekick Ben Schwartz interviewed the Bears’ Martellus Bennett on Friday’s episode and asked the colorful tight end for his thoughts on Best Picture-contender “Boyhood” during the wide-ranging conversation.

“I wasn’t interested in it,” said Bennett. “I don’t want to follow some kid around for his entire life in a movie. I got a daughter I do that with already. Artistically, I heard it was a beautiful film. … I like ‘Boyz n the Hood’ better than ‘Boyhood.'”

Technically, the movie followed the boy around for 12 years, not his entire life.

Bennett was also critical of the new Kevin Hart comedy, “The Wedding Ringer.” He told Pally and Schwartz he has no plans to see the film.

“It’s just ‘Hitch,'” said Bennett, comparing it to the 2005 Will Smith film with a similar plot. “It’s just a new version of ‘Hitch.'”

Bennett told me in October that he is interested in making movies and has an animated short film, “Zoovie,” based loosely on his life, on the way in 2015. He hopes to release six animated films over three years and make them available online as part of a subscription service.
