Evanston Art Center’s 12th annual Winter Arts & Crafts Expo opened for business on Nov. 21 with a rip-roaring preview party for 200. Considered one of the largest craft shows in the Chicago area, the event offered one-of-a-kind, handmade works of jewelry, ceramics, fiber, metal, glass, painting, photography and mixed-media by more than 100 selected artisans.
The event benefitted EAC’s capital campaign created for the non-profit’s move to a new location. For 45 years, EAC has called the Harley Clarke mansion at 2603 Sheridan Road home. In May of 2015, the community art center that has been serving Chicago and North Shore for more than 80 years will relocate to 1717 Central in Evanston.
The Expo raised $26,000 for EAC’s capital campaign. General shopping for the Arts & Crafts Expo continues until Dec. 22.
