I’m not sure if it’s damage control or Cris Collinsworth really thinking there was no problem with him and Al Michaels during Saturday’s game trying to whitewash NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s handling of the Ray Rice matter.

Maybe he really does think an investigation that you pay for can “vindicate” you.

Is there anyone who doesn’t get a paycheck from the NFL who thinks Goodell had been “vindicated” in his mishandling of the Rice matter?

Really, if so, I’d like to hear from them.

In the video, Collinsworth expresses puzzlement as to why what he, Michaels and NBC did during their propaganda moment during Saturday’s game became such as “issue.”

I’ll tell you why it became such an “issue,” Cris: because some folks like me had respect for you and Al Michaels, and we were shocked to see you acting and sounding like a couple of lackey puppets in a totalitarian government telling the masses how virtuous and illustrious their leader is. It was sad to see you and Michaels kissing the ring this way.

Anyway, here’s what Collinsworth had to say Monday on NBCSN’s “Pro Football Talk.” Check it out. Are you buying it?
