The Chicago Fire added more offensive depth Tuesday with the signing of Brazilian striker Guilherme “Guly” do Prado.

Do Prado, 33, joins the Fire from English side Southampton, where he spent nearly four seasons before departing in May 2014. He scored 23 goals in 118 appearances for a team that was promoted to the Premier League in 2011.

“Guly is a versatile, attacking player,” Fire coach Frank Yallop said in a statement. “I’m pleased to add someone with his experience to strengthen our corps of attack-minded players.”

Do Prado hails from Campinas, Brazil, where he began a soccer career that included several stops in Italy.
