Darien Mayor Kathleen Moesle Weaver will face a challenge in her re-election bid from 4th Ward Ald. Joerg Seifert.

Both Weaver and Seifert filed petitions to fun in the April 7 election.

It was one of the few contested races in Willowbrook and Darien.

Both City Clerk JoAnne Ragona and Treasurer Michael J. Coren are unopposed in their bids for re-election in Darien, as is 2nd Ward Ald. Tina Beilke. Nobody has filed for the seat in the 4th Ward, being vacated by Seifert in his mayoral bid.

In the 6th Ward, incumbent Syvlia McIvor will face challenger Kristine L. Collins.

In Willowbrook, the three incumbent village trustees are unopposed in their bid for re-election. They are Helen “Gayle” Neal, Suzanne Bergland and Paul Oggerino.

The race for Darien Park Board also in uncontested with Frank Noverini and Neil Christensen running for full terms, and Cathy Marchese running for a two-year unexpired term.

In the race for Indian Prairie Library Board, the incumbents are seeking reelection without opposition in an odd year where all seats on the board are up, due to resignations and appointments in recent years.

Running for a four-year term are Victoria Suriano, Marian Krupicka, Beena Deshmukh and Donald Damon. Running for two-year, unexpired terms of Julia Lacayo and Diane Ruscitti. There is a third unexpired term just filled by appointment by Kelly Von Zee.
