Most of the school districts covering Burr Ridge, Darien and Willowbrook are wanting for candidates in the April elections.
With the exception of High School District 86 and Elementary District 181, which cover a wide area including Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale and Oak Brook, only Maercker Elementary District 60 has a contested race this spring.
With three seats up, incumbents Amy Sullivan and Paul Watkiss of Clarendon Hills are seeking re-election, and face four challengers: Timothy Casey and Pradeep Tekkey of Westmont, and Cindy Barlow and Linda Hall of Willowbrook. Incumbent Beth Nodus is not running for another term.
In Pleasantdale Elementary District 107, there are four seats up for election but only three candidates filed. Incumbents Gina Scalette-Nelson and David Negron, both of Willow Springs, are running for re-election, and are joined by Vipal Dedhia of Indian Head Park. Incumbents Beth Tegtmeier and Lisa Houk did not file for re-election.
In Burr Ridge Elementary District 180, incumbents Helen Bell and Paula DuPont of Burr Ridge, and Kelli Perkins of Willowbrook, are all uncontested in their re-election bids.

In Darien, none of the elementary school district races is contested.
For Darien District 61, Mare Chiaro and Janine Kiwiet are seeking re-election and are joined by Jane Moss and Gregory Leban in an uncontested race for four seats. Incumbents Robert Rzeszutko and Deborah Gaspari did not file to run for another term.
In Gower District 62, only incumbent Sehba Kahn of Willowbrook and Cynthia Biala Hanson of Burr Ridge are running, though there are three seats up for election. Both Mike Timko and Richard Grunsten are not seeking re-election.
In Cass District 63, there are just two candidates for four seats: incumbent Shelly Camden and Steven Alari. Not seeking re-election are Bill Carpenter, Beth Lopus and Richard Brandeis.
In those districts where there are too few candidates, if nobody runs or is elected as a write-in candidate the respective school boards appoint someone to fill a vacancy until the 2017 elections.
