The Lake Forest boys basketball team didn’t waste any time asserting its authority in the opening round of the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic on Friday.
On the Scouts’ opening possession, senior center Evan Boudreaux slammed home an alley-oop pass for the game’s first points. Lake Forest never trailed en route to a convincing 66-32 win over Nazareth at York.
The Scouts (10-0) went on a 10-0 run to start the game and led 23-2 after the first quarter. They weren’t quite as dominant the rest of the game, but were firmly in control throughout.

“We talked about getting off to a strong start,” Scouts coach Phil LaScala said. “That was a big emphasis for us since we hadn’t practiced in a couple days.”
Boudreaux had no trouble getting open shots. He had 21 of his game-high 27 points in the first half.
“We wanted to get out strong and we didn’t want the other team to get hot,” Boudreaux said.
Junior forward Lorenzo Edwards had six points and four rebounds for the Scouts and senior guard Noah Karras also had six points in the win.
Freshman guard Josh Oglesby had seven points and four rebounds for Nazareth (0-8), and senior guard Grant Panatto also had seven points.
