A Metra train traveling through Galewood hit a car that was stalled on the tracks at Narragansett Avenue Tuesday evening.
North Central Line Train No. 113, which was traveling to Antioch, hit the car just before 5:30 p.m. The tracks intersect Narragansett just south of West McLean Avenue.
A Pioneer Press editor riding the train said she felt a sudden jerk, after which the train rolled to a stop.
The car’s driver was able to get out before the train hit it, according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.
No injuries were immediately reported. The train began moving again around 6:02 p.m.
