The following items were collected from reports released by the Oak Park Police Department.
Three packages were stolen Dec. 7 off front porches and two containers were taken Dec. 5 at one home, all on North Humphrey Avenue. A Progrill brush set valued at $25 was stolen on the 200 block of North Harvey Avenue. Kohl’s toddler sweatshirts valued at $25 were stolen on the 100 block of North Harvey Avenue. A thin man about 20 took a UPS package containing a light fixture valued at $12 on the 900 block of North Humphrey Avenue. Two UPS packages containing an Oster blender and blades, valued at $85, were stolen on the 1000 block of North Humphrey Avenue.
A 23-year-old Berwyn man was stopped on the 700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue at 1:12 a.m. Dec. 12 for being suspicious and was found to have Oak Park and Lyons warrants for a traffic violations.
A 38-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested on the 1200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue at 7:55 p.m. Dec. 11 on a Will County sheriff’s police warrant for a traffic violation.
A man 20 years old with a beard grabbed an Oak Park resident, showed a handgun and demanded money on the 700 block of South Taylor Avenue at 8:20 p.m. Dec. 8. He got $200.
An Oak Park girl was charged with possession of cannabis when stopped on the 400 block of South Ridgeland Avenue at 11:20 a.m. Dec. 9. She was turned over to her mother.
A 30-year-old Roselle man was charged with possession of a controlled substance when stopped on the 100 block of Washington Boulevard at 1:25 a.m. Dec. 9.
A 61-year-old Oak Park man was arrested on the 100 block of Madison Street at 12:01 a.m. Dec. 9 for violating an order of protection.
A 39-year-old Chicago man was charged with domestic battery of an Oak Park resident that happened on the 300 block of Madison Street at 4:16 p.m. Dec. 8.
A 26-year-old Schaumburg man was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance when stopped on the 100 block of Flournoy Street at 6:35 p.m. Dec. 6.
A 21-year-old Oak Park man was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after he unintentionally shot himself in the leg on the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard, where he lives, at 1:50 p.m. Dec. 5.
A 26-year-old Aurora woman was arrested at 9:53 p.m. Dec. 6 on the 400 block of North Harlem Avenue on two DuPage County sheriff’s police warrants for failure to appear in court on speeding charges.
A slim man about 20 years old and wearing glasses and a goatee used a pry bar at 12:28 p.m. Dec. 11 to try to enter the back door of a first-floor apartment on the 1400 block of North Harlem Avenue. The resident called to the man, who fled on foot toward the alley. Damage was $800.
Nothing was reported missing after someone used bolt cutters to break and pry open a first-floor bathroom window on the north side of Ebert Photography, 227 S. Marion St., and enter the business between 12:30 and 12:34 a.m. Dec. 11.
A men’s blue Specialized Rock Hopper mountain bike valued at $500 was stolen between 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Dec. 10 out of a garage on the 1200 block of Belleforte Avenue where the lower panel of the side door was kicked in.
A gray and silver mountain bike and blue, 26-inch Schwinn Voyageur bicycle, with a combined value of $899.99, were stolen between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9 out of a garage on the 1200 block of North East Avenue where a window was broken for entry.
A brown purse valued at $310 was stolen between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Dec. 9 off a chair in the kitchen of a home on the 300 block of North Lombard Avenue. Entry was through an unlocked back door.
A men’s silver KHS Westwood 21-speed bicycle valued at $900 was stolen between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 8 and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 9 out of a garage on the 1200 block of North Ridgeland Avenue where a landscaping brick was thrown through a window for entry.

Cash was stolen between 11:45 a.m. Dec. 7 and 10:45 a.m. Dec. 8 out of a car parked in an unlocked garage on the 500 block of South Ridgeland Avenue. A gardening shovel was used to break the car’s front driver’s side window for entry. The front mirror driver’s side cover also was removed on a second car and the passenger side door was scratched. Loss and damage were $810.
An Oak Park woman and two others saw a man 18 to 25 years old sitting in the driver’s seat of her car on the 500 block of South Cuyler Avenue at 10:40 p.m. Dec. 7. One person called to him and he left the car and fled, taking $2 in coins out of the vehicle. He was wearing a red-and-white knit hat with a ball on top, gray jacket, dark pants and had a black backpack.
A man about 20 wearing a dark knee-length jacket stole a pressure washer valued at $600 between 2:30 and 3:28 p.m. Dec. 7 out of a garage on the 1000 block of North East Avenue where the overhead door had been left open.
An Ardens snow blower valued at $300 was stolen between 8:15 a.m. and 7:05 p.m. Dec. 6 out of a garage on the 300 block of North Taylor Avenue where the side door was forced open.
A girl’s unattended Electra Tiki Beach Cruiser bicycle that is pink with brown flowers and has pink fenders and a brown leather seat, valued at $250, was stolen between Nov. 30 and Dec . 7 out of the back yard of a home on the 1100 block of South Euclid Avenue.
A front license plate valued at $10 was stolen between Nov. 9 and 15, police learned last week, from a car parked on the 900 block of North East Avenue.
Two packages were stolen between 12:54 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9 off the front stairs of a home on the 500 block of South Grove Avenue. The resident did not know what was in the packages.
A FedEx package containing one purple and one pink Google Android computer tablet valued at $114 was stolen between 1:12 and 4:26 p.m. Dec. 9 out of the lobby of a building on the 700 block of North Austin Boulevard.
A black T-Mobile LG Optimus cell phone valued at $175 was stolen between 5 and 5:20 p.m. Dec. 7 out of an unlocked locker in the girl’s locker room at the West Cook YMCA, 255 S. Marion St.
A black wallet containing a birth certificate, Ventra card, Social Security card and driver’s license was stolen between Oct 1 and Dec. 1 out of a home on the 300 block of South Maple Avenue while the resident was moving.
An orange and black Stihl 024 chain saw valued at $600 was stolen between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 6 out of the back of an unattended pickup truck owned by a resident of McFarland, Wis., which was parked on the 1000 block of Columbian Avenue.
An Oak Park boy’s white Apple iPhone 4 valued at $224 was stolen between 6 and 10:35 p.m. Dec. 5 out of the pocket of his unattended jacket on the 400 block of Lake Street.
A wallet containing cash, driver’s license and credit cards, with a combined value of $500, was stolen out of an unattended purse in an office on the 100 block of South Marion Street between 10:30 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. Dec. 4.
Three small projectiles shattered the driver’s side back window and dented the driver’s side back door between noon and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10 of a vehicle parked on the 400 block of Lake Street.
The front driver’s side tire was slashed between 12:15 and 10:20 a.m. Dec. 9 of a car parked in a garage vestibule on the 700 block of South Taylor Avenue. Damage was $300.
A window was broken between Nov. 20 and Dec. 6 on the north side of a garage on the 400 block of North Lombard Avenue, causing $200 damage.
