Rhythm and blues
In The Pocket Band, a group of seasoned musicians, will hit the Norton’s Restaurant stage at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 13. The members, who have toured with the likes of Buddy Guy and The Beach Boys, will offer up their brand of blues, R&B and jazz. There is no cover charge for this event. Calling all “Frozen” fanatics, Highland Park’s Sprout Kids and Beanstalk Toyland & Bookstore play host to “Frozen-mania” from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Dec. 13. Many activities will be offered, and attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Frozen character. Short but sweet
Short Story Theatre, a storytelling troupe that first performed in Highland Park, will present a show at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at The Wilmette Theatre. Known for their engaging spoken stories along with musical performances, expect topics such as teenage marriage and being “master of your domain.” Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at shortstorytheatre.com.
