Neuqua Valley proved it pays to drive safe, in the amount of $25,000 to be exact.
The Naperville high school learned Tuesday they were one of 90 winning high schools who earned a $25,000 grant as part of State Farm’s Celebrate My Drive campaign.
“On behalf of State Farm, I am extremely proud of Neuqua Valley’s efforts to generate excitement among students, faculty and the entire community to make safe driving commitments and have positive conversations about teen driver safety,” said local State Farm agent Randy Ems. “We appreciate all of the wonderful support of the program to help reduce teen crashes and save lives.”
Neuqua Valley Principal Bob McBride shared the sentiment.

“This has been a true community effort,” the principal said. “We want to thank the community for rallying behind us. This experience has created lasting partnerships that will far exceed the $25,000, and for that, we are forever grateful.”
The Wildcats were among more than 3,200 high schools from around the country who participated in this year’s program. Neuqua Valley is required to invest 10 percent of the grant award on a teen driver safety program for students. They plan to use the remaining funds for improvements to their fitness facility.
