Can you name the four elf food groups?

Miss Joan’s Cupcakes owner Barry Selitzky can.

“The four food groups are candy, candy cane, candy corn and syrup,” says Selitzky who opened Miss Joan’s Cupcakes with his wife, Joan, two and a half years ago at 3344 S. Route 59, suite 108.

The bakery celebrates the “Elf” movie every year by offering four specialty cupcake flavors. This year a special event will be Dec. 6 with a free raffle drawing and fun prizes to celebrate.

While the movie will run non-stop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., customers can come in and try Miss Joan’s Cupcakes version of the four elf food groups.

Probably the most unique of the four is the candy corn cupcake, Selitzky goes on to describe the vanilla-cake base decorated with marshmallow frosting.

“It actually looks like a candy corn!”

But don’t miss out on the maple syrup, candy cane, or the M&M-loaded candy cupcake.

Not a fan of any of these flavors? Try any one of the other eight cupcake flavors for just $3 a cupcake, or $33 a favorable dozen.

Some of the proceeds from the raffle will benefit the charitable foundation Warm Wishes.

Miss Joan’s Cupcakes also does custom design cupcakes for all occasions. Call 630-210-8073 or visit www.missjoanscupcakes.com for more information.
