The Bears loss to Detroit may have been a turkey to fans in Chicago, but it played well throughout the country.

The game did a 15.3 overnight rating of major markets, the highest for CBS on Thanksgiving Day since the network reacquired the NFL rights in 1998; 1 national ratings point is the equivalent of more than 1 million homes.

The NFL was the big winner Thursday. Fox pulled a 15 overnight rating for the Philadelphia-Dallas game, its best since 2011.

The Seattle-San Francisco game had a 12.5 overnight rating, NBC’s best since it started airing a primetime game on Thanksgiving in 2012.
