Alison Fox is one of a kind, and so is her work. The Naperville resident and artist is taking part in One of a Kind Chicago, which runs Dec. 4 through 7 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

“I am very excited to be a part of the One of a Kind Chicago show,” Fox said. “(It’s) a beautiful show during the best time of year to be downtown. Each space looks like its own little gallery, so it truly showcases our artwork as it is meant to be seen.”

Fox, who has been creating stained-glass art for the past 35 years, joins more than 600 artists who will share their one-of-a-kind creations. Inspired by nature and whimsical themes, she is continually visiting salvage and antique stores for her glass inclusions.

“My stained glass is an advanced form of foiling and soldering glass inclusions into my panels,” she said. “Many pieces are antiques and parts of chandeliers. I might even use old brass parts and hardware.”
