Del Taco, briefly in Chicago several years back before closing its locations, announced it will return to the city in 2016. The California-based Mexican chain plans to open eight franchised restaurants beginning in 2016.

There’s a new executive chef at Howells & Hood: Brett Neubauer, formerly its executive sous chef, will now take over Scott Walton as the restaurant’s executive chef. Neubauer is a Kendall College graduate. [Tribune]
