Singer/songwriter Eric Hutchinson is no stranger to late-night television. He’s been on “Conan” three times and has also made appearances for Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel. But there’s one Jimmy who hasn’t yet invited Hutchinson to grace his sound stage: Mr. Jimmy Fallon.
That’s not to say that Hutchinson wouldn’t be game if he received the invite. In fact, the 34-year-old musician, who played an energetic and soulful show Wednesday at Park West, has a few ideas of what he’d like to do on the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” if given the chance.
“I’d love the try the lip sync challenge,” Hutchinson told RedEye during a pre-show interview.
But he also has a game in mind that he’s never seen Fallon try on his show in which he’d stand behind Fallon and Fallon would use Hutchinson’s arms to, you know, make breakfast, etc. or vice versa. (Example here and he explains it in the video interview below starting at 1:04).

But as of Wednesday night, Fallon hasn’t extended the invite. Well, I think RedEye should at least try to change that, and here are my reasons why:
Hutchinson is clearly a fan of Fallon’s crazy show antics, as exhibited by this tweet:
He already has a game picked out for Fallon to play with him. C’mon, that shows initiative.
As seen in this video, he doesn’t mind playing along with show hosts when they ask them to be creative and weird on the fly. (Way to be flexible, Hutch)
The dude can sing …
… but I don’t just mean his own songs. One thing I love to see from artists is when they realize some people at their concerts know and love a couple songs, but they might not know their full repertoire. Hutchinson definitely understands that, and he dedicated a good portion of his show to covering (very well, I might add) popular musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Adele, Aretha Franklin, Taylor Swift, and Outkast.
So please, Jimmy, hear us out. Let’s get Eric on your show. I’m confident he’ll be a hit. #HutchOnFallon
