—didn’t intend for its Wrigleyville billboard to rat out the Chicago Police Department-patrol car hang out. It happened anyway.In a photo posted to the Chicago sub-Reddit, the company’s billboard—directly across the street from Wrigley Field—reads, “There’s probably a cop hiding below this billboard.” And, lo and behold, the picture also shows a Chicago Police SUV, sitting right beneath the ad just patrollin’.
Toni Cinchy, the marketing operations coordinator for Moosejaw, said it just happens to be coincidence.
“It was just for fun,” she said Friday. “It had nothing to do with any research we did about if there are any cops around there. That’s pretty funny, and actually cool that that happened.”
Cinchy said the billboard is one of three in Chicago. All read the same thing. She said they are scheduled to be taken down in about a week.
Reached Friday, a Chicago Police Department news affairs spokeswoman said the department is “not aware” of a specific reason of why a patrol car would be sitting underneath the billboard in that area.
