A Northwest Side man has died months after he was injured when the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a vehicle making an illegal U-turn in Logan Square, authorities said.

Ricardo Roman, 44, was pronounced dead at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Roman, of the 5800 block of West Melrose Avenue, died from injuries suffered in the crash early June 14 in the 3500 block of West Fullerton Avenue, the medical examiner’s office determined following an autopsy Wednesday.

The motorcyclist was heading west on Fullerton when a vehicle pulled out of a parking space and made a U-turn in front of the motorcycle about 1 a.m. June 14, causing the motorcycle to hit the vehicle, said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

The motorcyclist, who at the time was 43, was taken to Illinois Masonic in critical condition, Zala said.

The motorist was cited with making a U-turn within 100 feet of an intersection, said Zala, who did not have information on whether any charges might be brought against the driver following the motorcyclist’s death.
