A woman robbed a bank in the Hermosa neighborhood and a man robbed a separate bank in the Montclare neighborhood Wednesday, authorities said.

The woman walked into the bank in the 4400 block of West North Avenue about 12:10 p.m. and passed a note, demanding cash, said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. The woman fled after getting cash, Zala said.

The business robbed was the Chase Bank, 4440 W. North Ave., according to the FBI’s BanditTracker.com.

The woman was black, stood 5 feet to 5-foot-4 and weighed about 180 to 200 pounds, according to the FBI. She was wearing a winter hat, a tan jacket and glasses. In surveillance photos, the hat appears to be green or blue-green, and the glasses appear to be reading glasses.

In addition to that bank robbery, a man is suspected of robbing a Chase Bank branch at 7180 W. Grand Ave., FBI officials said.

The robbery took place at 2:12 p.m. when a man in a red hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a moustache announced a robbery, according to the FBI.

The man was described as black, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall. He allegedly had a handgun which he displayed, according to the FBI.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the FBI at 312-421-6700.
