Bears fans in need of a pick-me-up should tune into the latest edition of “Bears Classics” on Comcast Sports Net.

CSN will document the Bears’ 44-0 victory over Dallas in 1985 in a one-hour special Wednesday at 9 p.m. Relive the Bears’ ultimate domination over the “America’s Team” of Tom Landry. The game wasn’t even as close as the final score.

Here are some highlights from the show:

MIKE DITKA (on coaching against his mentor, Landry): “He (Landry) meant everything to me. I think the two people in my life that hired me twice was George Halas … he hired me as a player, hired me as a coach … and Tom Landry hired me as a player, hired me as a coach. Those are the two most important people in my life.”

DAN HAMPTON (on Ditka’s close connection with the Cowboys): “When he first got here, he was all ‘Dallas does it like this … Dallas does it like that.’ One day in practice, I scream, ‘Who the hell cares? … We’re in Chicago!’ So, we had this hate for Dallas.”

TONY DORSETT (on facing Bears defensive coach Buddy Ryan’s ’46 defense’): “Buddy came up with that defense. It was new to everybody, nobody could block it, and they were just creating havoc. As a matter of fact, statistically, and I could be mistaken, but I think, defensively, it was probably one of the best years in the history of professional football.”

DANNY WHITE (on being knocked out of the game twice by Otis Wilson): “I’ll never forget it. They knocked me out of the game, twice. In fact, I had two spinal fusions as a result of that game. And Otis Wilson hit me, pinned my head down between our bodies, drove me over on my back, and jammed my head down into my chest.”

OTIS WILSON (on his domination of Danny White in that game): “It took a while for Danny White to get home because the speed limit is 55 on the highway, and every time he saw it, he just pulled over (laughs). He said, ‘Not this guy again!’ Oh yeah, he got off the expressway and took the backroads home!”
