Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Time to show a little love to the Bears, one in particular.

You won’t see him on any videos, TMZ or otherwise. You won’t hear about him shoplifting underwear and cologne, but come on! Who hasn’t done that?

No, he’s clean cut and his name is Matt Forte.

While the rest of the team is hot and cold, he is on pace to gain 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 receiving.

That’s a big deal. It has only been done twice. Roger Craig of San Francisco did it in 1985, and Marshall Faulk did it in 1999.

Jay Cutler should buy him a vehicle or a home with some of his mega winnings because this guy is the consummate safety valve. He IS their third receiver. He’s probably the second-best running back to wear the uniform, apologies to Gale Sayers.

Of course, after the big win in Atlanta, we’re all jumping up and down going, “The slump is over! Jay Cutler is back! That’s all in the past!”

Yeah, right. Of course it’s in the past. It’s in the past until Sunday when Miami comes to town.

“They stink! We’re at home! We should cream these guys!” you say. “We haven’t won at home yet, and we stink too!” I say. Seriously. Week 7 and we haven’t won at home yet. Absurd.

Anyway, new concept: We actually don’t need the draft. We started three benchwarmers at linebacker last week, and two—Christian Jones and Darryl Sharpton—were picked up off the street!

Good! We need more guys with chips on their shoulders.

Tidbit 1: Darryl Sharpton is Al Sharpton’s cousin. Praise the lord!

Tidbit 2: Christian Jones went undrafted out of Florida State. We’ve all seen Florida State. We should try out all their players every year. All injured Bears, take your time coming back. These guys have it covered.

Speaking of taking your time, the NHL season has actually started! You just don’t know it.

A quirk in the schedule is all. If the Bears hadn’t won, I’d have switched to the Blackhawks full time.

Instead, I’ll migrate slowly.
