The Tie Bar is launching its first pop-up shop Friday at 918 West Armitage Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. And to celebrate, “Modern Family” star and Tie Bar collaborator Jesse Tyler Ferguson is scheduled to attend a private party Oct. 23 at the pop-up shop.
Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita designed a tie collection for The Tie Bar, which is normally only available on the website. The Tie Bar donates $20 of every $25 tie purchase and $25 of every $35 cufflink purchase from the collection to the couple’s marriage equality foundation, Tie The Knot

For those who don’t buy ties because you don’t know how to tie them, there are step-by-step directions on the Tie Bar website. Or you can just do what I used to do and bring your tie to Macy’s and have an employee in the tie department do it for you. You’re probably better off with the directions though. Less embarrasing.
