Mike Milbury has had enough with fighting in the NHL.

During their opening-night telecast on NBCS, Milbury shared his views with Keith Jones on the dwindling number of “enforcers” in the league.

“I think it’s telling me that it’s time to get rid of fighting,” Milbury said. “It’s telling me that it’s over. As much as I liked a good scrap in my day, too many issues here involving concussions. Too many problems. The teams are going away from it. Let’s grow up and get rid of it.”

Later, Milbury added, “So many problems with concussions. There are too many guys seriously hurt. It’s time.”

For the record, Milbury was involved in 70 fights as a player, according to HockeyFights.com. He also took part in an infamous incident when he joined his teammates on Boston by going into the stands after a game against the Rangers in New York. Milbury even hit a fan with the fan’s shoe.
