The following items were collected from reports released by the River Forest Police Department.
Three women were arrested Oct. 2 after they tried to buy gift cards at Jewel-Osco, 7525 Lake St., using credit cards that were declined and found to be fraudulent. Charged with a felony possession of a counterfeit card were a 19-year-old Oak Park woman and two women, ages 22 and 20, from Chicago. They had left the store after noticing a manager watching them and their car was stopped at Madison Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Oak Park. Inside the car were credit and debit cards with their names on them.
A men’s unlocked red Trek 400 bicycle valued at $400 was stolen before 6:50 p.m. Sept. 21 from in front of the 7-Eleven store, 1140 N. Harlem Ave.
A 23-year-old Chicago man was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after he was found with a 17-year-old girl and three others entering a car with-out-of-state license plates parked behind the 400 block of Clinton Place at 3:29 a.m. Sept. 21. All appeared to have drunk alcohol, and marijuana was found in the car. The girl was charged with violating curfew.
In a scam complaint, a resident of the 500 block of Monroe Avenue contacted police Sept. 19 after receiving a payment voucher from someone claiming to work for the IRS and stating the resident owed back taxes.
Shoes and prescription glasses valued at about $900 were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle parked on the 7600 block of Washington Boulevard at 8:51 a.m. Sept. 19.

A man about 30 and wearing a white-brimmed sun hat stole an unidentified amount of money by gunpoint from a Shell gas station at 7201 North Ave. at 8:08 p.m. Sept. 18. The man fled east toward Harlem Avenue.
A 29-year-old Chicago man was charged with retail theft, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and other unidentified traffic offenses after he took several bottles of liquor at the Jewel store, 7525 Lake St., at 11:27 a.m. Sept. 18 and led police in a chase that ended with his car crashing into a pole on the 5500 block of Division Street. Three passengers in that car fled on foot.
The glass window of the back storm door of a home on the 500 block of Forest Avenue was broken between Sept. 15 and 17. No forced entry was seen.
A man living on the 100 block of Franklin Avenue reported Sept, 16 that he was the victim of financial identity theft after he was contacted by a credit company to confirm he opened a line of credit. The man denied opening the credit and said someone must have stolen his Social Security number.
An Oak Park man was charged with burglary after he was seen taking items out of an open car trunk on the 800 block of Jackson Avenue at 11:55 a.m. Sept. 12 and police found his car four days later from the resident’s description. The man turned himself in and the stolen items were recovered.
