Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The bricks seem to be falling into place for yet another video game movie.

This time, according to an exclusive interview from the Wall Street Journal’s “Speakeasy” blog, it’s a flim based on 1984 arcade classic “Tetris.” Yes, “Tetris.”

For the unfamiliar (I’m looking at you, 2000s kids.), Tetris involves matching together different-shaped, geometrick bricks that fall from the top of the screen. While that may not sound like compelling cinema, from the sound of the interview with the film’s production company Threshold Entertainment, it could bust the box office. Threshold CEO Larry Kasanoff told the blog to expect a “big, epic sci-fi” movie.

Considering no cast or crew has been signed on yet, we aren’t getting our hopes up. However, the story has been written, and Threshold does have a decent track record when it comes to video game movie adaptations. The company produced 1995’s “Mortal Kombat” and 1997’s “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.”

However, those films did have a little more plot to run on than straight-angled bricks falling from the sky.

In the interview, Kasanoff said “brands are the new stars of Hollywood.” That being the case, here’s a bonus list of video games that should probably get big-budget movies before Tetris:

“Battletoads” (tagline: “Do you have it?” For reference, click here.)

“Mega Man”(Chris Pratt as Mega Man)

“Mario Kart” (full title: “Mario Kart: Legend of the Blue Shell”)

“Duck Hunt” (soundtrack by John Williams)

“Tapper” (starring John Goodman)
