Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Some of the most memorable moments when traveling come via the meals. Because food is a good gateway to exploring a destination, publisher Lonely Planet will be host a chat on Twitter at 10 a.m. Central on Wednesday. Participants can share tips, photographs and food travel recommendations.

To take part in the chat, use the hashtag #LPChat. The publisher will also be giving away Lonely Planet’s “Food Lover’s Guide To The World” to an #LPChat participant. Entrants must be 13 years old or over. Follow @LonelyPlanet, where questions will be posed during the chat and ordered Q1, Q2 and so on. To reply with an answer, use a corresponding A1, A2, etc. in your tweet. It’s unclear how a winner will be determined. Lonely Planet was not reachable for comment, but its blog post states that the judges’ decision is final and a winner will be notified via direct message and public tweet on Twitter.

The first edition of “Food Lover’s Guide To The World” ($24.99) was published this month and features celebrity food-lover contributions, recommendations on where to find local dishes in cities around the world, cultural and etiquette eating tips, introductions by Mark Bittman and James Oseland, as well as recipes.

The world food chat will be co-hosted by Tourism Ireland (@DiscoverIreland) and food blogger Niamh Shields (@eatlikeagirl).

UPDATE: A Lonely Planet rep confirms that the questions will be opinion questions and whomever is actively participating in the chat and gives the most creative/interesting answers could qualify to win.
