The following items were gathered from reports released by the Batavia and St. Charles police departments.

Batavia

A 25-year-old Batavia man and a 28-year-old Cortland man were charged on Sept. 28 with criminal trespass to motor vehicle. The incident occurred in the 100 block of North Van Buren Street.

Credit card fraud was reported to police on Sept. 28. The person’s card had been “cloned” and used to make $453 in charges.

A 35-year-old West Chicago man was charged on Sept. 28 with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and disobeying a stop sign near Franklin and Hamlet streets.

A 26-year-old Batavia man was charged with possession of a controlled substance, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia on Sept. 27. He was also cited for improper signaling.

Wal-Mart employees reported Sept. 26 that a man stole $56 worth of beer and whiskey from the store at 801 N. Randall Road.

A wallet was reported stolen on Sept. 23 from Berkeley Fine Foods, 28 S. Van Buren St.

A 36-year-old Batavia man was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer in the 100 block of Houston Street on Sept. 22.

A 33-year-old Aurora man was charged on Sept. 22 with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of vehicle damage and failing to give information after an accident and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The incident occurred near East Wilson and Prairie streets.

A tree limb fell on a driveway in the 300 block of Elm Street, causing minor damage to one vehicle and considerable damage to the other, police reported Sept. 21.

A 50-year-old North Aurora woman was charged on Sept. 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper turn at an intersection, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and improper lane usage after she was involved in a single car crash in the 100 block of Laurel Street.

An 18-year-old DeKalb woman was cited for retail theft from Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, on Sept. 19.

An iPhone was reported stolen from the 700 block of Roberts Lane on Sept. 15. The theft had occurred the previous day.

When police served a warrant on Sept. 18 in the 1200 block of East Wilson Street on a 39-year-old Elgin man for failing to appear in court, they discovered that he was carrying cannabis. The man was transferred to the Kane County Jail.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Richter Drive on Sept. 18.

Wal-Mart employees reported that two people stole jackets with cosmetics stuffed in the pockets on Sept. 18 from the store at 801 N. Randall Road.

St. Charles

A 42-year-old St. Charles woman was charged Sept. 23 with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage after she hit a car parked at Tap House Grill, then continued to The House Pub without reporting the accident.

A 21-year-old South Elgin woman was charged with criminal damage to property after she slashed her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle tire with a knife on Sept. 24.

A 24-year-old Woodstock man was charged Sept. 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegally possessing alcohol, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. An officer had stopped the man after he was swerving between lanes in the 2200 block of West Main Street.

A 29-year-old Roselle man was charged with two counts of criminal damage to property and theft after he caused extensive damage to the Hilton Garden Inn, 4070 E. Main St., on Sept. 20. Police were called to the hotel after a guest reported that someone had broken his room’s window with a fire extinguisher. Police later discovered broken windows, broken computers, damaged curtains and chairs, an employee break room covered with broken bottles of ketchup and hot sauce, and more discharged fire extinguishers. Police later discovered that he had also broken a car window in the parking lot.

A 29-year-old Countryside man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis, improper lane usage and driving unsafe equipment on Sept. 20 after police stopped him driving his motorcycle in the 500 block of East Main Street. They later discovered that he had a flat tire and damaged turn signal.

A 61-year-old Carol Stream man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured vehicle on Sept. 21. Callers had reported to police that he was driving erratically and police later saw him driving unusually slow and swerving.

A 30-year-old Dixon man was cited for public drunkenness after police responded to reports of the man slumped over in front of the 7-11, 1701 W. Main St., on Sept. 21.
