Art, music, and fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion, collided Sept. 20.

The event was the lavish gala celebrating the opening of the highly anticipated “David Bowie Is…” exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The results were spectacular.

Some of the world’s most renowned contemporary artists including Theaster Gates, Tom Sachs (looking smashing in the Nike shoes he designed, of course) and Simon Starling (his show is on view in the MCA’s first-floor gallery) mingled with top blue-chip art collectors, A-list curators and die-hard Bowie fans.

Louis Vuitton was the presenting sponsor of the event so many in the uber-stylish crowd came dressed in the brand’s greatest hits.

Bowie’s glam-rock contemporary, the always-impeccably dressed Bryan Ferry, blazed through his own Roxy Music and solo greatest hits catalog during his set wearing a Vuitton tuxedo jacket embroidered with images by British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman. Loud, maybe. Tasteless, never.
