It would be a travesty to ignore the soul-dripped music that local artists like Tree have been releasing over the past few years when discussing Chicago’s rap scene. “Kickin It Wit’ TW…”, from Tree’s protege Chris Crack is the newest addition to that legacy. I’m confident saying that it’s one of the best projects to drop out of Chicag this year. Entirely produced by TMTHY TRTL, he laces the project with a jazz-infused swag that creates the perfect marriage of laid-back style and progressive party jams. Crack’s star personality shines throughout the project with witty quips culminating in an astonishing mixtape that makes you want to get your flyest gear on, hit Lake Shore Drive for a quick cruise then engage in illegal narcotics in the company of a harem of ethnically vague supermodels.
Chris Crack (and the fellow members of the New Deal Crew) have allowed RedEye to exclusively premiere the tape, which you can listen to below. Above this post is the new video for the first single off of this project “Rose Gold on My Two Fangs”
