A man who sparked a road rage incident called police and was issued a citation after directing his anger at authorities.
The 50-year-old man called police last month, alleging he was following a vehicle whose driver had punched the window of the caller’s van.
Orland Park police stopped both motorists on the 8000 block of 159th Street, where they learned the complainant had cut across three lanes of traffic, nearly hitting the other motorist, who then slapped the side of the complainant’s van.
The complainant acknowledged that version of events, then asked police to give the other driver his home address “so he can come by and get his (butt) beaten.”
Police declined.
The complainant then drove forward and spit out the window at the other motorist, police said. He was ticketed for spitting on the sidewalk.
Asked to sign the citation, the complainant screamed to an officer that he “stuffed guys like you in lockers in high school.”
The man then suggested he wouldn’t be attending the hearing on the local-ordinance violation and left screaming profanities at police through his window, authorities said.
