River Forest police made four arrests and issued 31 tickets during their Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket” crackdown.

Arrests were made for possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, driving while a license is suspended and driving without a valid driver’s license, according to a Police Department news release.
Tickets issued included 17 for seat beat violations, two for child safety seat violations, three for speeding and nine for other unidentified traffic offenses.
Police placed an emphasis on enforcement during late-night hours when, according to statistics, the highest number of motorists drink and drive and the fewest buckle up, according to police.
River Forest police joined with state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct the crackdown featuring high-visibility enforcement and outreach activities, including a media campaign and additional police activity.
The crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety.
