— feline queen of the Internet, film star and “author” — as its host, along with her owner, Mike Bridavsky.The fest features a 75-minute compilation of cat videos with four shows throughout the afternoon and evening. Visitors can bond with other cat lovers, meet adoptable cats or even greet Lil BUB herself, although that opportunity isn’t included with general admission.
Created by the Walker Art Center of Minneapolis, Chicago is the fest’s first official stop of its 2014 tour. A portion of the proceeds benefit Tree House Humane Society and Chicago Cat Rescue. And if you can’t make it on Caturday (er, Saturday) but don’t want to miss out on the fun, the fest’s video playlist can be seen on the Walker Art Center’s YouTube channel.
The Internet Cat Video Festival happens at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Metro, 3730 N. Clark St. (773-549-4140, metrochicago.com). $12-$20; $75 VIP; $100 meet and greet with Lil BUB.
