Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Let’s see Mr. Bat Speed Gary Sheffield get a hold of one of these pitches.
Hitting a pitch in the high nineties is a challenge for even the most talented major league batters, so what could they do with a 186-m.p.h. fastball?
A YouTube video tests that theory as former Japanese baseball player Takeshi Yamasaki takes heaters from a Top Gun pitching machine. The balls whiz by so fast it’s difficult to track them with your eyes, let alone a bat. Yamasaki just stands there and laughs.
Check out the video and judge whether you could even make contact.
In the meantime, the Cubs should get one of these machines for Javier Baez.
