The following items were gathered from Oak Park police reports:

A man in his 40s approach a Chicago resident on the 1100 block of South Boulevard at 10:50 p.m. Aug. 19, began an argument that resulted in both spitting at each other. The man in his 40s hit the Chicagoan with a garbage can lid and fled.

Two UPS packages containing a 12-pound cured ham, and women’s clothing, baby toys and jar lids were stolen between 5:08 and 6 p.m. Aug. 14 off the front porches of two homes on the 600 block of South Humphrey Avenue.

A man riding a mountain bike came up behind an Oak Park resident on the 200 block of Pleasant at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 13, displayed a handgun, possibly a silver revolver, and demanded a bag. The resident screamed for help and ran.

A woman driving a White Grand Prix with temporary plates left her car at the McDonald’s on the 100 block of Madison Street at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 13 and sprayed Mace through the passenger-side window of another vehicle. The chemical got into the eye of the Oak Park driver, whose foot hit the gas pedal and caused a crash.

A 49-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Aug. 20 on the 600 block of Lake Street on a Douglas County sheriff’s police warrant for contempt of court.

A Chicago youth was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 20 on the 500 block of Des Plaines Avenue in Forest Park for an attempted theft that happened Aug. 10 on the 900 block of South Humphrey Avenue. The youth was processed and turned over to a parent.

A 25-year-old Chicago woman was arrested at 2:02 p.m. Aug. 20 on the 0-100 block of Washington Boulevard on a Cook County sheriff’s police warrant for domestic battery.

A 30-year-old Tinley Park woman was charged Aug. 18 with three counts of deceptive practices after she made purchases at the Gold Hatpin, 125 N. Marion St., with checks from an account that was found to be closed by the financial institution.

A 24-year-old Chicago man was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol; aggravated driving while his license was revoked; driving under the influence; driving with a revoked license; and no proof of insurance after his car was stopped on the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard at 9:46 p.m. Aug. 17.

A Carpentersville woman was charged with disorderly conduct involving a Cicero resident on the 0-100 block of Ontario Street at 4:36 a.m. Aug. 17.

A 34-year-old Elmwood Park man was charged with driving under the influence when his car was stopped on the 7200 block of Madison Street at 2:28 a.m. Aug. 17.

A 24-year-old Chicago man was charged with soliciting in the roadway that happened on the 100 block of Flourney Street at 8:13 a.m. Aug. 17 after he was stopped three days earlier for the same violation.

A 26-year-old Chicago woman was charged with driving under the influence after her car was stopped on the 0-100 block of North Austin Boulevard at 3:31 p.m. Aug. 17.

A 23-year-old Chicago man was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident on the 100 block of North Harvey Avenue at 3:39 a.m. Aug. 17.

A 20-year-old Chicago resident was charged with domestic battery of a Carol Stream resident that happened on the 100 block of South Boulevard at 10:35 p.m. Aug. 16.

A 28-year-old Chicago man was charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, no valid license, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident when stopped on the 500 block of North Cuyler Avenue at 6:52 p.m. Aug. 16.

DNA from blood led to the arrest Aug. 14 in Chicago of a 23-year-old Chicago man who was charged with a residential burglary that happened on the 200 block of South Cuyler Avenue on Aug. 23, 2012. He also was wanted on two Cook County sheriff’s police warrants for violating a bail bond on a trespass charge and violation of probation on a burglary charge.

A Chicago boy was charged with battery of an Oak Park resident that happened on the 500 block of North Lombard Avenue at1:35 p.m. Aug. 14. He was processed and turned over to his brother.

A Chicago resident’s wallet containing identification, $30 and a driver’s license was stolen between 9 and 9:15 p.m. Aug. 20 from a zippered bag on the passenger-side floor of a car parked on the 400 block of Madison Street. The window had been left open.

A 50-inch Panasonic flat-screen television set; Samsung laptop computer; PlayStation 3 game console; Nintendo Wii game console; and a Toshiba laptop computer — with a combined value of $7,900 — were stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 19 out of a home on the 600 block of North Harvey Avenue. Entry may have been through an unlocked back door.

A boy 16 to 18 years and nine others were seen entering an unlocked car with its windows down on the 200 block of LeMoyne Parkway at 10:50 p.m. Aug. 18. A witness flashed a flashlight at the group and yelled at them. They fled north on Harvey across North Avenue, A white Apple iPhone charger and a pack of gum, were stolen.

A men’s gray-and-red Giant Escape bicycle and girl’s blue bicycle, both valued at $725, were stolen between Aug 16 and 18 out of a garage on the 500 block of South East Avenue where the side door had been left open.

Two boys 12 to 15 years old, one riding a bicycle, entered an unlocked truck parked on the 800 block of Highland Avenue between 2:18 and 2:38 p.m. Aug. 17 and stole a gold iPhone 5S valued at $300.

A beige-and-gold handbag; black Nook HD tablet; and a women’s brown long wallet containing identification and credit cards — all valued at $740 — were stolen between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and 12:20 p.m. Aug. 17 out of an unlocked car parked on the 400 block of North Humphrey Avenue.

A silver Trek mountain bike valued at $400 was stolen between 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. Aug. 16 out of a garage on the 1100 block of South Taylor Avenue where an overhead door had been left open.

A laptop computer, tablet and jewelry — with a combined value or $3,900 — were stolen between 8 a.m. and 7:44 p.m. Aug, 14 out of the bedroom of a home on the 400 block of Home Avenue. A door was pried for entry.

A man 17 to 22 years old stole a blue, 26-inch, 21-speed Diamondback bicycle valued at $225 locked to a bike rack east of the football fields at Oak Park and River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville Ave. between 1 and 7 p.m. Aug, 14.

A black Samsung Galaxy S III cell phone with Otter box case, valued at $450, was stolen between 10 and 10:05 a.m. Aug. 14 out of a Bensenville resident’s unlocked truck parked on the 1000 block of North East Avenue.

A women’s white-and-nickel, 21-speed Trek 700 bicycle valued at $900 was stolen between Aug. 9 and 14 out of a garage on the 600 block of North Lombard Avenue. The side door was pried.

A pair of binoculars valued at $134 was stolen between 6 and 8 a.m. Aug. 14 out of an unlocked vehicle parked in a garage on the 300 block of North Scoville Avenue where the overhead door had been left open.

Someone broke into and tried to steal two vans parked overnight Aug. 16 on the 1100 block of Highland Avenue. The front passenger windows were forced open and the steering columns and ignition locks were damaged. Damage to a Minnesota resident’s van was $2,000, to a Berwyn resident’s van, $3,000.

A catalytic converter valued at $480 was cut from a Chicago resident’s sport-utility vehicle parked on the 800 block of Lyman Avenue between March 24 and Aug. 14.

A black change purse containing coins valued at $18 was stolen between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 7:20 a.m. Aug. 13 out of an unlocked car parked on the 1100 block of North Elmwood Avenue.

A dark-gray Trek bicycle valued at $700 was stolen between 2 and 4 p.m. Aug. 12 out of a garage on the 1100 block of Wisconsin Avenue where the overhead door had been left open.

A women’s silver-and-royal blue, 24-inch Diamondback racing bike and black cable lock, both valued at $315, were stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. Aug. 19 on the 400 block of Lake Street.

A purple Oak Park parking pass was stolen from the back window of a car parked on the 800 block of Erie Street between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 9 a.m. Aug. 19. A sticky, syrup-like substance also was on the car. The loss was $125.

A grey Trek mountain bike valued at $720 was stolen between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 on the 1000 block of South Lombard Avenue where it had been locked to a bike rack.

A black-and-red Trayl Dispatch bicycle valued at $26.99 was stolen between 1 and 3 p.m. Aug. 19 out of the back yard of a home on the 400 block of South Ridgeland Avenue.

A boy’s gray, 21-speed Schwinn bicycle valued at $250 was stolen between 10:15 a.m. and noon Aug. 19 from a bike rack on the 400 block of Lake Street where it had been locked to a bike rack.

A boy 14 to 17 years old stole an unlocked silver-and-red Razor Scooter valued at $30 from the gangway of a home on the 700 block of South Lombard Avenue between 7:30 and 7:35 p.m. Aug. 18. He was accompanied by a boy of the same age who was waiting on a black BMX bike. They went north and then west on Jackson.

A Chicago woman’s unattended black backpack with a triangle on the bottom was stolen between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Aug. 16 on the 100 block of Forest Avenue. Inside were sunglasses; keys; a blanket; change purse; and identification, with a combined value of $210.

A white Apple iPhone 5S valued at $500 was stolen between 4:45 and 5:45 p.m. Aug. 18 after it had been left unattended in a backpack and connected to an outlet to recharge in the lobby of the Longfellow Center, 610 S. Ridgeland Ave.

A Forest Park resident’s purple 3rd-Avenue hybrid bicycle and helmet, both valued at $250, were stolen between 1:40 and 4:40 p.m. Aug. 16 from the bike rack outside the Oak Park Library main branch, 834 Lake St.

Credit cards were stolen between 6:50 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Aug. 16 from a locked locker at the West Cook YMCA, 255 S. Marion St.

A black-and-silver Samsung tablet valued at $199 was stolen between 3:59 and 4:58 p.m. Aug. 16 while left unattended on a countertop on the 100 block of Harrison Street.

An Oak Park resident’s black Calvin Klein wallet containing credit cards, a driver’s license and Ventra transit card was stolen between 12:30 and 1:15 p.m. Aug.16 in the Jewel food store, 7036 Roosevelt Road. The loss is unknown.

A red 1996 Acura stolen Aug. 13 was found Aug. 16 on the 500 block of North Lombard Avenue.

A silver 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer stolen Aug. 11 was found by Chicago police Aug. 15 on the 5200 block of Ohio Street. One person was arrested.

Two bicycles were stolen between 12:50 and 6 p.m. Aug. 15 while locked to a bike rack on the 700 block of South Boulevard. They were a dark-green Bianchi bicycle with thin tires and black, 26-inch mountain bike. Both were valued at $500.

A boy’s unlocked blue-and-silver Trek mountain bike valued at $300 was stolen between 3:10 and 3:15 p.m. Aug. 14 from a playground on the 0-100 block of Lake Street.

A women’s unlocked red GT Aggressor mountain bike with silver handlebars, valued at $550, was stolen between 3:45 and 4:15 p.m. Aug. 14 from the bike rack outside the Dole Branch library, 255 Augusta Blvd.

A Chicago resident’s black Sony headphones with case valued at $200 were stolen between 12:20 and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 when they were left unattended at the desk at the Oak Park Library main branch, 834 Lake St.

A screwdriver was used to try to open the lock on the passenger-side door of a Wheaton resident’s vehicle parked on the 1100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue between 8 p.m. Aug. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 20. Damage was $100.

A first-floor window was broken, through kicking or a thrown ball, on the west side of Irving School, 1125 S. Cuyler Ave., between 3:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 7 a.m. Aug. 19. Damage was $1,000.

Two boys ages 16 to 19 damaged the Ventra card reader beyond repair in the Blue Line transit station at Austin Boulevard at 4:50 p.m. Aug. 17. They vandalized the machine and pried part of it. Damage was $1,000.

Toilet paper was thrown all over a house on the 500 block of North Taylor Avenue and one roll was lit on the front porch between midnight and 8:32 a.m. Aug. 16. Paint on the porch was stained but there was no structural damage.

A 12-inch dent was placed next to door handles of an Orland Park resident’s car parked in the West Suburban Hospital parking garage, on the 0-100 block of Erie Court, between 5:45 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7:15 a.m. Aug. 14. Damage cost is unknown.

The rear windshield was broken out to a vehicle parked on the 0-100 block of Division Street between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 10 a.m. Aug. 11. Damage was $150.
