Back-to-school days can be a drag. Luckily, the Chicago Public Library has a good reason to celebrate — and dance. Now through Aug. 29, CPL is hosting its first-ever Back to School-A-Palooza concert series at 20 library branches.
The 20-concert series, for families with kids ages 5–12, features school-themed performances by local kindie artists, such as:
Little Miss Ann: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bezazian branch, 1226 W. Ainsle St. (312-744-0019)
ScribbleMonster: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt branch, 1101 W. Taylor St. (312-746-5656)
More Top Picks Docking Station
Jeanie B: 11 a.m. Friday at Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State St. (312-747-4200)
Besides a chance to groove, students can explore some of the library’s study resources, like Brainfuse, which offers free, one-on-one homework help online daily from 2–11 p.m.
Kiddos who attend the interactive concerts also have the chance to snag giveaway back-to-school materials.
