player ready...Highland Park’s Jazzy Kerber won the individual all-around and led the U.S. team to the gold medal at the Pan American Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships Thursday in Toronto.
Kerber, 17, a junior at Highland Park High School, scored 66.149 points in the four rhythmic disciplines to beat teammate Rebecca Sereda of Staten Island by 2.365 in the all-around. They had tied for first place at last month’s U.S. Championships.
This was Kerber’s first senior international all-around title.
The U.S. beat Brazil by more than 190 points for the team title in an event that served as a qualifier for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.
