Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Ed Debevic’s, the ’50s-style diner famous (or should we say infamous?) for its side orders of sass and dancing wait staff, serves up a luau-themed fest Saturday for its 30th anniversary.

Adults can admire a display of vintage cars while kids jump around a bounce house or try their hands at a dunk tank. When they’re not racing the clock in free hot-dog and ice-cream eating competitions, kiddos can also enter a hula-hoop contest. (Get your smartphones ready: We smell a Facebook video post!)

A portion of the proceeds from food sales and activities tickets will go toward local charities, including the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.

11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Ed Debevic’s, 640 N. Wells St. (312-664-1707, eddebevics.com). Free to attend; food and beverages not included.
