Rescue crews freed a man who was trapped in a grain bin in Kendall County, according to authorities.
The man was conscious and receiving medical attention as of 5 p.m., according to sheriff’s deputy Michael Mrozek. He was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to a press release.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to Grainco in the 9500 block of Helmar Road in Lisbon Township at about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday for the report of an employee trapped in a grain bin with his leg stuck in an auger, Mrozek said.
Deputies worked with the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department to remove the man, he said.
Mrozek had warned local motorists of potential delays on area roads during the rescue.
