Gogo Inc., which provides wireless internet on airplanes, has reached agreements with airlines to perform trials of satellite technology that could give consumers higher internet speeds.
Japan Airlines, Air Canada and Virgin America have said they will test two types of satellite technology, 2KU and GTO, which would provide airplanes with a total bandwidth of 70 megabytes per second to distribute among passengers, Gogo President and CEO Michael Small said.
