The tech community is buzzing this week over Techweek Chicago’s promotional email that displayed provocative images of women. Many tech players said the email was sexist and tasteless, and some even asked to be removed from the Techweek 100 list released Tuesday.
Even though the Black Tie Rave was canceled, the conversation is ongoing. Three women from Chicago’s tech community discussed the controversy on WBEZ’s Tech Shift, while Sean Johnson explained why he asked to be removed from Techweek 100. Others offered suggestions on how to solve tech’s gender problem.
