A look at the results from each fight at UFC 172 held Saturday night at Baltimore Arena:

Jon Jones def. Glover Teixeira (unanimous decision; 50-45 on all three cards)

* Jones wins every round to retain the UFC light-heavyweight title and likely will next fight a rematch with Alexander Gustafsson

Jones quotable: “I have gigantic goals. I already have the record for title defenses in my division, but I’m gunning for [Georges St-Pierre] or Anderson Silva’s records next. I had to answer a lot of questions after my last fight. Had I lost my mojo? I answered those tonight, but there is room for improvement. I started sloppy and ended by running around a little so I can always get better.”

Anthony Johnson def. Phil Davis (unanimous decision; 30-27 on all three cards)

* Johnson returned to UFC with an impressive win in the light heavyweight division, and in the process hushed Davis, who had been the most vocal fighter all week.

Johnson quotable: “I didn’t have any Octagon jitters, I felt right at home back in the UFC. I wanted to fight to the best of my abilities and I think tonight I did that. I didn’t let myself worry about what the press was saying because I was focused this whole camp.”

Luke Rockhold def. Tim Boetsch (submission; 2:52 of Round 1)

* Rockhold broke a toe but still wasted no time stopping Boetsch to win their middleweight bout.

Rockhold quotable: “The reverse triangle that I got him in, that’s my bread and butter. Everyone thinks I’m just a striker, but don’t sleep on my submission game. … I want Vitor [Belfort] but it doesn’t look like he’ll be fighting for a while, so I’ll take an opportunity to shit Michael Bisping’s mouth next.”

Jim Miller def. Yancy Medeiros (submission; 1:42 of Round 1)

* Miller choked out Medeiros, adding to his record for submission victories in the lightweight division.

Miller quotable: “I’m here to beat the best, its not about the belt for me. I want the best competition and to prove myself. … I’ve got the record for most submissions in my weight class, and I’m looking to add to that record every time.”

Max Holloway def. Andre Fili (submission; 1:21 of Round 3)

* Holloway shook off an illness to finish his featherweight fight in the final round.

Holloway quotable: “I was sick all week. I really only got out of bed for my weight cut and my media obligations. It was incredibly tough, but I’ve got a family to feed and I don’t make any excuses. My strength and conditioning for this camp was awesome, and that allowed me to power through the sickness that I had.”

Jospeh Benavidez def. Tim Elliott (submission; 0:52 of Round 1)

* Benavidez earned one of the two $50,000 “performance of the night” bonuses for his finish to this flyweight bout.

Benavidez quotable: “That was the first time I was able to pull off the “Joeaconstrictor,” a submission Iv’e worked on and attempted in modified versions in the past. … Tim is tough, and I knew an old fashioned punch to the face wasn’t going to stop that wild man, so I had to be creative. He is an awesome opponent and that was a lot of fun out there.

Takanori Gomi def. Isaac Vallie-Flagg (unanimous decision; 29-28 on all three cards)

* UFC deemed this lightweight battle the fight of the night, and Gomi survived to win his 35th MMA fight.

Gomi quotable: “I’m very happy to fight in Baltimore. I want to get on the card that’s coming to Japan and would like to fight a champ, but please no more up-and-coming fighters.”

Bethe Correia def. Jessamyn Duke (unanimous decision; 30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

* The lone women’s fight on the card went the distance.

Correia quotable: “The fight was exactly what I expected. We threw a lot of punches and stayed on our feet. I’m very happy because I was able to be aggressive and connect my jabs and kicks. I noticed that she didn’t want to go to the ground with me either. The times she did get me on the ground were only because I was too close to her and not because she was able to take me down when she wanted.”

Danny Castillo def. Charlie Brenneman (KO/TKO; 4:38 of Round 2)

* Castillo knocked out Brenneman with a punch to finish their lightweight bout.

Castillo quotable: “I’ve started to come to the realization I’m one of the greatest lightweights in the world. … When he fell, I saw his eyes roll back and I knew he was out. I didn’t want to cause anymore damage then I needed to. He’s a great opponent, a good dude and he never disrespected me once, so I didn’t want to hurt him anymore. I knew the fight was over after that punch.

Chris Beal def. Patrick Williams (KO/TKO; 3:09 of Round 2)

* Beal’s flying knee in this bantamweight bout earned him the other performance of the night bonus of $50,000.

Beal quotable: “I’ve been practicing knees and kicks all camp, so that flying knee was definitely part of the game plan. I went for it and smashed him in the face. … I’m going to keep fighting and move up the division and hopefully someday be a champion. I want to finish fights and make it exciting for the fans.”
