Focus Features has set the
biopic, “Theory of Everything,” for an awards-season U.S. release date of Nov. 7.
The romantic drama, directed by James Marsh (“Man on Wire”), stars
as the theoretical physicist opposite
, who plays art student Jane Wilde.

The film portrays their relationship, which led Hawking through personal and scientific challenges as well as breakthroughs. Wilde’s memoir, “Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen,” served as inspiration for the film.
Anthony McCarten, who also wrote the screenplay, Lisa Bruce and Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce. The cast includes Emily Watson and David Thewlis.
Focus will expand the run on Nov. 14 and 21.
